Funky furniture, accessories and art objects are not a true category of antiques and they can be antique or vintage or brand new. They can also be modern, country or even primitive.

The Funk Aesthetic is characterized by bright colors, strange or eccentric construction, a love of common materials, and the use of common objects in uncommon ways. These items range in age from the hundreds of years old to new items.

Shown above is a Parrot Wall Planter from the 1940's or 1950's. Antiques on the Square in Easton almost always has some Parrot Collectibles, along with head vases and other items. JVJ Decor carries modern and contemporary prints, silkscreens, paintings and drawings in this style, along with other funk decor accessories like strange architectural fragments, vintage display pieces, and theater marquee letters in aluminum.
